Snow Is For All Ages

Even though there was only a little bit of snow left on the ground, it was still fun to play with it.....

There is this magical effect of snow, it brings out the childishness, it is just so tempting not to step on it and rub our feet into it.....

Just A Bit Of Snow

Saturday night some snow flake was falling, perhaps it was a last minute thing to rush before the winter ended, it was quite sudden.....

Sunday morning, walking past piazza Castello, the snow was mainly cleaned up, except some strips left here and there.....

Gypsy Beggar

The gypsies are everywhere, once they were fascinating and intriguing group of people, often seemingly mysterious and liberal......
Now, after being 'blocked' by them in every street, asking for money, insistently pushing their hand, or even their babies right in your way to get money, a sense of irritation given rise. Not to mention, eye witnessing them trying to pickpocket in bus stops, on the metro and various places.....

As for this woman ( not really sure if she is gypsy or not ) begging at the corner of via Po and piazza Vittorio, one might care to offer some coins to her. After a few steps along the same stretch of street, seeing women with the same style of clothing standing or squatting there, begging in the same way, one begins to wonder if they belong to a corporation of professional beggars....

Snow Clearing

The snow clearing crews busy clearing the snow accumulated at the bus stop on via Pietro Micca.....

Actually, there was not that much snow to be cleared, but obviously for safety reason, to prevent slippery, the snow had to be gone ASAP.

Snow Street

First few years of my stay in Torino, it snowed around the Christmas season, on Christmas day or one day before or after. Then, it came later and later, lesser and lesser.......
This year, after waited for the whole December and January, it finally came, just one day, not much, but enough to cover up the street, of course being in the city center, the snow won't last, the next day, it was all gone.

The view from my balcony, always a pleasure to see the snow falling down from the sky....

The snow looks like sugar coating on a cake....

Primo Levi Exhibition

Primo Michele Levi was an Italian Jewish chemist, writer, and Holocaust survivor. He was the author of several books, novels, collections of short stories, essays, and poems. His best-known works include If This Is a Man (1947) (U.S.: Survival in Auschwitz), his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland; and his unique work, The Periodic Table (1975), linked to qualities of the elements, which the Royal Institution of Great Britain named the best science book ever written.

Turin
honors, from January 22 to April 6, 2015, in a collective effort and great commitment, in one of his best sons - Primo Levi - with an exhibition in the Palazzo Madama.

The exhibition was intended and designed for everyone, but especially for the young, given the importance that Levi has in culture and in school for Italy and other countries.

A wagon, symbol of travel of deportation placed in front of Palazzo Madama for the exhibition dedicated to Primo Levi. A symbol disputed by the superintendent Luca Rinaldi, arguing that it was not in the context of piazza Castello ( Where Palazzo Madama is located ) and its "cumbersome" characteristic , wrote to the City to show his opposition to this arrangement.

Due to his insensibility and intolerance, the wagon was risked to be removed, but it seems at the end it was allowed to stay where it is now, due to the critics and protests by the public against Mr. Rinaldi's protest.

Perhaps, he should be the one to be removed......
