Arte Alle Corti - Palazzo Civico

The Beehive of Jessica CARROLL, 2 meters diameter Bronze.

"To do work in large bronze, as this hive of two meters in diameter, need many helpers and a foundry of course. I began to tell boys of the foundry stories about bees: that when the cells are disordered born there drones, that bees have six legs and that is why the
hexagon , the hexagon is in nature the cheaper and more effective system to build and that some animals have genetic, intrinsic knowledge to do certain things, like bees hives or termites bridges for millions of years and that we men instead we must learn to make them and that the observation of these animals can teach us how to do them.

So also in the foundry we have become a "Super organism" and a multiple of between 3 and 6 the hive was formed. "

Arte Alle Corti - Palazzo Carignano

In the work of Elisabetta Benassi entitled MareoMerz, a fishing boat hangs in the net the last car belonged to Mario Merz. Here it triggers a 'interaction between monumental architectural space, the center of the city and its history (and Italian history), and the open space, that of the journey, with a close relationship with the memory of the art (the car of Mario Merz, master of Turin, which is fished, as emblematic object of Arte Povera). But there is perhaps also an echo of what is happening these days in the "Mare Nostrum".

The opera MareoMerz is located in the courtyard of palazzo Carignano.

Arte Alle Corti - Palazzo Birago di Borgaro

In the courtyard of Palazo Birago di Borgaro includes two art works. After Love, the large installation of Vedovamazzei, alias Simeone Crispino and Stella Scala, is located at the center and is also visible from the street through the main gate.

The work is the reconstruction of the lopsided house from the famous film of Buster Keaton's One Week (1920). The building, in which you can enter, is based on a careful study of the frames of the film. With the installation of this work creates a paradoxical and unsettling contrast between the refined  symmetrical beauty of the baroque architecture of the court and the deconstruction of messed modest prefab.

The installation of the Swiss couple Glaser / Kunz, Daniel Glaser and Magdalena Kunz, Autoportrait, helps to create an alienating situation in a noble courtyard. It is a car parked next to the wooden house, inside are two dummies (Talking Heads), which, through a video projection on the faces and their recorded voices, producing a hyper-realistic vital effect .

The Palace of Venaria (Italian: Reggia di Venaria Reale) is a former royal residence located in Venaria Reale, near Turin, in Piedmont, northern Italy. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997.

The view from the garden

The Palace was designed and built from 1675 by Amedeo di Castellamonte, commissioned by duke Charles Emmanuel II, who needed a base for his hunting expeditions in the heathy hill country north of Turin. The name itself derives from Latin, Venatio Regia meaning "Royal Hunt".

The Grand Galleria Of Venaria Reale

One of the main projects of the architect Filippo Juvarra to Venaria consisted in the construction of the sleeve in South begun by Michelangelo Garove : the harmony and proportions transferred to new spaces, lavish decorations of stucco, cornices, pilasters of the Great Gallery, were intended to make the system a masterpiece of scenic Juvarrian around the eighteenth century.

The gallery, which connected the apartment of the king to that of the heir to the throne, is one of the most amazing and spectacular of the entire complex. Its rich decorations is due to the hand of Peter Philip Somasso, Giuseppe Bolina, Antonio Pope and Giovambattista Sanbartolomeo. Also the dimensions of the gallery are completely remarkable with a height at the center time of about 15 meters, a length of about 80 meters and a width of 12 meters.

During the French occupation the original floor was removed and reused for the Beaumont Gallery in Turin, while the current, which incorporates the design of Juvarra, was carried out in 1995.

One of the peculiarities of the Great Gallery is the splendor of the light beams generated by 44 large windows and large 22 "eyes" (oval openings inside and outside rectangular) places on time allow a play of light and shadows, such as enhance the infinite variety of patterns and the two esedre, relentlessly, influencing visitors.

Last week there was the Garden, plants and flowers show/market at piazza Carlo Alberto, extended along via Carlo Alberto.

Beside all the wonderfully beautiful flowers and amazing plants, a couple selling roses caught my eyes and attention, what a style ! And I wasn't the only one who was interested in taking their photo, Many people were starting to hold up their cameras and cellphones to snap some shots of them, until they started to joke about wanting payment for their shots.
