Two Trams

The old green and red trams at the tram stop in Piazza Castello.

The red and cream tram was built in 1924, during the 60- it was renumbered as T433 with a blue livery and yellow stripes. In 2000, it was restored to its original condition. It was on display in Sassi until 2008, then its mechanical and electrical elements were reconstructed, in 2009 it returned in full function on track for special services.
The green tram no.2847 was built in 1960, in 1980, it was rebuilt along with all the other trams of the same model, and sprayed with a new orange color. After 2008, it was restored to its original condition. Now, it is a sort of "museum in motion" with its circular path along the main perimeter boulevards, with the starting and ending stop in Piazza Castello and going by Porta Nuova.

Canine Meet Up

In piazza San carlo, this huge Great Dane stood still, refused to go away, insisted to wait for the arrival of his little friend.

The two finally met up and greeted each other, perhaps saying " happy New Year, mate! ".

Je Suis Charlie - Torino

"Je suis Charlie" (both "I am Charlie" and "I follow Charlie") is a statement used by supporters of free speech against the 7 January 2015 massacre in which 12 people were killed at the offices of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris. The statement identifies the speaker with those who were killed at the Charlie Hebdo shooting, and by extension for freedom of speech and resistance to armed threats. Some journalists embraced the expression as a rallying cry for the freedom of self-expression.

( Quote from :  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Je_suis_Charlie )

Thousands of people demonstrated, with torches and candles, in Piazza Castello in Turin in defense of press freedom after the armed attack on the weekly Charlie Hebdo. Many have raised the signs 'Je suis Charlie', but also cartoon designs. The event was attended by the mayor of Turin Piero Fassino and the regional president, Sergio Chiamparino with the banner of the City.

After Christmas Sales

The first weekend for the after Christmas sales, with via Roma closed for traffic, the street was filled up with people doing shopping or just window shopping.

Looking at all these 30%, 50%, 70% sales signs, an idea came into my mind, next year I will go around to take photo of the items I want to give away as Christmas presents, then I will place the photo in small boxes and wrap them up as gifts for friends. I will then purchase these items during the after Christmas sales and give them to the person I wanted to give as Christmas presents.

CDP January Theme

2014, I didn't make any really satisfying photo, so i have chosen this which is my personal favorite. I particularly love the ring of color light reflecting in the eyes.

His is Max and I took the photo during our visit to the Paratissima art exhibition in Torino.
