Few days ago while in the pharmacy, a young man came in and asked if we are locals, then he asked about why there are scarves hanging on the trees in the park of Porta Palatine....We had no idea....
So, out of curiosity, we went to check it out, and there were various scarves hanging on the trees and on the gate into the park.
After some research, realised that it is sort of a movement to encourage people to hand out their scarves for those who in need of them but can't afford to have one for the cold winter....
The scarves are mainly for children and beside Porta Palatine, scarves are also hanging on the trees in piazza Statuto.

There are people here who knit them, as well as toques, and then place them on the statues around downtown with little notes saying that they're for those who need them.
A simple and great idea.
