Man Who Blows Two Fluts

He sits by the side of the street and blows on his two fluts at the same time, trying hard to get some music out, but usually there is no music, at least to my ears, but just some strange noises. Anyway, at least he tried, someone might award him for his effort.

Pink Dot SG

Pink Dot SG, known exonymously as Pink Dot, is an event that has occurred annually since 2009 in support of the LGBT community in Singapore. Attendees of Pink Dot events gather to form a "pink dot" to show support for inclusiveness, diversity and the freedom to love in the country. Pink Dot events typically include concert performances and booths sponsored by organizations that support the LGBT community and cause in addition to the event's name-brand formation.

The success of Pink Dot in Singapore has inspired similar events in several other countries, leading to the event to become known as Pink Dot SG — SG being an initialism for Singapore. It has been held each year in Singapore from 2009 to 2019 at the Speakers' Corner in Hong Lim Park on a Saturday in the months of May, June or July. The 2020 and 2021 editions were held as online livestreams, in view of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 edition was held in-person once again in June.

This year, back to Singapore in June, walking from Orchard to Chinatown, passed by Hong Lim Park and realised that the infamous Pink Dot event was going on.

Stopped for a while to snap some photo, was unable to really join in because one of us is a foreigner and as a foreigner he is not allow to participe in the event.

Nevertheless, still feel amazing to be able to witness the event in Singapore.

Continue On Balon

Some stalls at the flea market Balon on Saturday are setup by the shops along the street, so basically the shops place their goods in front of the shops and business as usual.

Compared to the independent stalls, the things sell by the shops are more valueable, such as antiques and collectable items. Unlike the independent stalls which have more surprises.

Saturday Flea Market

Flea market at Balon on Saturday is something to experience once in a while. It used to be more chaotic, more packed and more erratic.

Visited the flea market last Saturday and found that there were lesser stalls, many areas were not allowed to have stall setup, so overall, it seemed less crowded and less interesting, also less 'dangerous'.

Many illegal stalls were sent away, and the remaining stalls were selling more 'traditional' items.

Nevertheless, Balon is still a place worth to visit on a nice Saturday morning, just beware of the pickpockets.

Re-Opening Of A Garden

The historic garden of Palazzo Dal Pozzo della Cisterna is once again be accessible to the public.

A historic garden, like the building in which it is located, is today the prestigious headquarters of the Metropolis of Turin. It dates back to the end of the 17th century, when the original core of the noble residence was enriched by this green area, a gift of the Royal Lady Maria Giovanna Battista di Savoia Nemours.

A small jewel nestled in the streets of the center of Turin where you can admire natural and architectural elements blending into each other. After major renovations and consolidation of the façade on the garden side, from the end of March 2023 this small Turin oasis is once again available to the entire population. Open seven days a week from 9.00 to 18.00, the garden will await Turin residents and visiting tourists as a small green interlude in the city center with plants, a gushing central fountain and a traditional toret that will be put back into operation.

A Little Spring View

Always love this view in Spring, this particular tree blossoms beautifully along the river Po. The tress and the low houses behind the tree, the combination is so rural, as if in the countryside, although the city center is not so far away.

Tulips Season

Tulips are in town again. The little garden at piazza Filiberto has again planted with beautiful tulips to welcome the Spring.

The tulips this year are a bit different, beside the usual single layer petals, there are also some multi-layers petals tulips, known as the peony tulips and they are gorgeous.
