Not A Playground

A serie of installations is spread around the Royal palace and its garden, the installation titled : Animali A Corte: Vite Mai Viste.

Various art installation of animals made in different materials are placed inside and outside of the Royal palace, includingin the royal garden which is free acess to the public.

One of the installation is these giant snails in the garden.

On the first few days, there was not warning signs about no touching of the exhibition pieces and of course no climbing on top and no riding of the snails.

Then, some people took them as if they are in the children playground, not only allowing their children to ride the snails, the parents too took turns to sit on the snails.

The result is, after just a few days of the exhibition, one of the snail was broken and needed repair.

Warning signs are then placed near the exhibited pieces....

Turin had quite a long time without rain, and the rivers were slowly drying up, especially the main river Po, the water level was so low.

Luckily, it started to rain few days ago, and according to weather forecast, it might be rainly for some more days, hopefully not up into the week when Turin is hosting the EuroVision.

CPD May Theme : Shadows

The shadows of the balconies casted on the wall me affascinate always, they seem like an extention of the balconies into the wall.

And the shadows of the bicycles stands bring out a different image, they are full of hearts.

Masterpieces of modern photography

For the first time in Italy, CAMERA - Center for Photography of Turin presents the exhibition Masterpieces of modern photography 1900-1940, exhibition of works from The Thomas Walther collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The exhibition itinerary consists of a selection of 230 photographic works from the first half of the twentieth century, absolute masterpieces in the history of photography made by the great masters of the lens, whose images still appear innovative today.

Alongside iconic images by American photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, Paul Strand, Walker Evans or Edward Weston and Europeans such as Karl Blossfeldt, Brassaï, Henri Cartier-Bresson, André Kertész and August Sander, the Walther collection enhances the central role of women in the first modern photograph, with works by Berenice Abbott, Marianne Breslauer, Claude Cahun, Lore Feininger, Florence Henri, Irene Hoffmann, Lotte Jocobi, Lee Miller, Tina Modotti, Germaine Krull, Lucia Moholy, Leni Riefenstahl and many others.

In addition to the masterpieces of Bauhaus photography (László Moholy-Nagy, Iwao Yamawaki), of constructivism (El Lissitzky, Aleksandr Rodčenko, Gustav Klutsis), of surrealism (Man Ray, Maurice Tabard, Raoul Ubac) we also find the futurist experiments of Anton Giulio Bragaglia and the abstract compositions by Luigi Veronesi, two of the Italians present in the exhibition together with Wanda Wulz and Tina Modotti.

CDP April 2022 Theme Symmetry

A lot of structures and arrangements in the church are quite symmetrical, especially the ceilings.

Few years ago, visited the Basilica of Don Bosco at Castelnuovo Don Bosco, the interior is rather modern as compared to many other churches in Italy.

And here is a shot of its ceiling.
