Graffiti In San Donanto

By chance, came across another wall of graffiti art in San Donato zone.

It is a wall at the end of a piece of space seems to be used as car park for the nearby residents.

Monopattini The New Problem Of Turin

We have a mayor and her gang who so are much into sustainable transport that they implemented all kind of supports to promote the use of bicycles, electric scooters and regardless the inconviences created to the rest of the citizens.

These two guys on the scooter had broken two rules: travelling on the scooter with more than one person is not allowed and crossing the traffic light when it was red.

A commotion created by two guys on scooter speeding under the arcade where lots of pedestrians especially old folks were moving under the arcade. They were stopped by a group of  pedestrians and an heated argument was exchanged until a passed by police car was stopped by the people to assist to the situation.

First of all, although there are rules and regulation about using these sustainable transports, such as where they can travel, with what speed limit, where they can be parked etc. Unfortunately, these rules and regulations are not being enforced enough, so they are just as to say on paper. Secondly, no safety precaustion is obliged to follow by the riders, such as helmet, and the transports are not registered.

Another couple travelling in two on scooter under the arcade ( breaking two rules ).

A scooter parked in the center of the walk way under the arcade, just to show who is the boss. So, now we have shared scooters and bikes parked everywhere, blocking the walk ways, travelling on pavement and under the arcade like hell riders endanger the safety of the pedestrians, going against the traffic when travelling on the road, behaving like the master of the town, without caring about the consequences of their behaviour.

Scooters left on via Roma by people who used them just for fun, making the once elegant street looks like a playground.

Another group of scooters abandoned disorderly at the entrance to an arcade together with a shared electric bike.

The mayor has neglected the control over the system they implemented, setting rules to follow but not sending out autorities to check on the situation, to enforce the rules to be followed. So instead of a solution, they have created more problems.

Museo d'Arte Urbana (2)

Personal view about the MAU ( Museo d'Arte Urbana ) is that it seems not well developed yet, the paintings on the walls are interesting, the allies and the houses formed like a small art village, but in some spots, cars are parked just in front of the art display, as though the people living there don't care much about the paintings.

The time when I was there, the whole place was rather quiet and deserted, there were paintings on the walls, as well as ugly grafitti.

I guess the place needs more support from the state to really live it up.

Museo d'Arte Urbana (1)

Located in the area between Via Nicola Fabrizi-Corso Svizzera-Via Levanna-Via Netro, The MAU - Museum of Urban Art in Turin - is the first project of its kind to be realized in Italy. Its aim is to create a permanent artistic outdoor structure situated within a big metropolitan space.

It is like a tiny artistic village with  paintings painted on the wall of the houses, in the Borgo Campidoglio.

CDP September Theme A Favourite Photo

For the CDP September theme, I decided to post this photo of Torino, made in 2007 from the window of my previous apartment.
This is my favourite photo because this particular view of Torino is rather rare and private, plus it was 13 years ago and Torino has gone through quite a number of changes, so the same setting might not be found anymore.

It was done with my first digital camera, a Canon ios and I first shared this photo on Flicker without placing my signature on it.
Few years later, I shared it on a group about Torino on Facebook and immediately I was accused of stealing photo from other photographer and posted it as my own. I was rather shocked about the accusation, then they shared shearches from the web and I realised the photo was used in many sites, including overseas webpages. Later, I even found out that the photo was commercially used in packaging for sweets of a well known brand in Italy.

Another one of my favourite photo is this black and white photo made more than 30 years ago with my first analog camera, a Nikon FM 2, and the photo was developed by myself during a short course I was attending.

It was made in Batam island in Indonesia.
The photo is not perfect, as I had created a water mark on the negative while mishandling it  during the developing process.
It was scanned with a rather low quality printer-scanner, thus further deteriorated the quality of the image.
I like the atmosphere of the image and it marked an important expeience on my journey of making photos.
