Parco Dora Lotto Vitali

Parco Dora is a post-industrial park of Turin with a total area of 456,000 m², located in the Spina 3 until the nineties where stood the great factories of Fiat and Michelin. It takes its name from the river Dora Riparia that crosses, and is surrounded by the streets Nole, Valdellatorre, Mortara tunnel, wide Orvieto, Via Livorno, via Daubrée, during Umbria, Piazza Piero della Francesca, including the District 4 and 5.

The area Vitali is the largest in the park, covers 89,000 m² and is characterized by the strong presence of pre-existing industries. It takes its name from the establishment of Ferriere Fiat which was situated there. It  is also the central of the park.

 

Dominating the area are the imposing structure, of which high steel columns painted red and part of the original roof were conserved. Under the large canopy is a multifunctional space equipped with playgrounds for playing (soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, skate ramp) and designed to host exhibitions and sports activities, next to it there is a large garden, which alternating flower beds are structured around the pillars of the dismantled steel, play areas and an elevated walkway made ​​of galvanized steel.

Porta Milano Station - Train In Display

The Torino Porta Milano, also known loosely as Turin Bridge Moscow or, colloquially, as Cirie-Lanzo station, was the starting station of the railway Turin-Ceres, and because of its central location, has been the reference point of all commuters and travelers that used the line Torino-Ceres, much appreciated especially for its central location and convenient public transport links to Turin. Today is a disused railway station in Turin located in the Aurora neighborhood in Corso Giulio Cesare.

Palazzo Carignano Summer View

The Palazzo Carignano is a historical building in the centre of Turin, Italy, which currently houses the Museum of the Risorgimento. It was once a private residence of the Princes of Carignano, after whom it is named. It is famous for its unique rounded façade. It is located on the Via Accademia delle Scienze.

Sacra di San Michele

Not in Turin, but not so far away either......
The Sacra di San Michele, sometimes known as Saint Michael's Abbey, is a religious complex on Mount Pirchiriano, situated on the south side of the Val di Susa overlooking the villages of Avigliana and Chiusa di San Michele, northern Italy. The abbey, which for much of its history came under Benedictine rule, is now entrusted to the Rosminians. A special regional law acknowledges it as the "Symbolic monument of the Piedmont region".

Consolata Church And Its Tower

The Santuario della Consolata at piazza Della Consolata.

The bell tower was built in the eleventh century, the completion of the church of Sant'Andrea, the bell tower is the work of monaco Bruningo, and only evidence of the previous Romanesque church which was built on the current sanctuary is in fact due to this fact, it  appears to be disconnected from the design of  the main body of the baroque basilica.

Giuseppe La Farina

Giuseppe La Farina  was an influential leader of the Italian Risorgimento. Minister of Cavour, was highly involved in Garibaldi's departure for Sicily. Ostensibly sent by Cavour to dissuade Garibaldi from going, he in fact did little of the sort. A nationalist at heart, he was believed to be one of the few to whom Cavour actually revealed his intentions regarding the Sicilian campaign and eventual unification.
