La Cavallerizza Reale

La Cavallerizza Reale is a large complex built between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries as a military headquarters of the Academy: a complex that is protected by a bond, and that is part of the system of the Savoy royal residences UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transferred from the State to the City of Turin, the Riding has become part of the Teatro Stabile, and in 2001 it is open to the city as a place of entertainment, with great success. But following the savage cuts in local authority budgets, the municipal authority has decided not to reap the benefits (social, but also economic) of its investment, and decided to sell the complex: in 2009 it was entrusted to the Securitization city of Turin Ltd., and in 2013 the representations and visits of private speculators have started that they would like to purchase the monument (a price about 12 million euro).
Some citizens came together in a Autoconvocate participatory process to decide the future of that great historical space, and announced three days of occupation.....

Bottling La Cavallerizza Reale

Cavallerizza Reale, the large complex built between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries as the headquarters of the Military Academy, has decided by the city council to be sold.
But not everyone in town willing to accept this historical site to be sold for private commercial use, occupation of the site has been going on to protest the decision, so its fate is yet to be confirmed.

An event so called ' Sick Party' was held here to support the cause against the sale of Cavallerizza Reale, a party organized by one big plan: to defend the property of their city.

No sure if this is part of the result of the party.....
Judging from the sight of these emptied bottles gathered on the ground, the cause is justified and noble, but it seems some cleaning up should be considered too.

Sitting Room At Cavallerizza Reale

The Cavallerizza Reale is a building complex originally created to house the stables and apartments of the royal family’s cavalry officers. The Cavallerizza Reale is placed behind Teatro Regio and within easy reach from Piazza Castello and Via Po.
Today the Cavallerizza Reale is used partly as a theatre and partly it seems to me hosting some homeless guys who have actually built an 'open space' style home under the arcade.
Nevertheless, the Cavallerizza Reale has an important historical charm given also by the beauty of its spacious rooms.
