Sometimes, the policemen bought their horses to have a walk in the town center and of course it would attract lots of attention.

 

A brave little girl went forward to greet the big guys....

Water Point

Just discovered recently that there are kiosks in the twon where we can collect mineral water for free. 

By now, two places we know, maybe there are more.

  

So we just bring along bottles to collect the water, natural water is free, sparkling water costs a small fee.

Chinese New Year In Turin Part 1

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the chinese community in Turin together with the Rinascente Shopping center organised a 3 days events celebration.

I was only able to catch on time the third day's event, an exciting performance with fire. Followed by the chinese dragon and lion.

Rainy Street

Coming to the end of March, officially Spring should be here yet the spring still reluctant to arrive, raining over the weekend and snow is forecast to arrive by the end of the month....

In the morning when it was raining, via SanFrancesco d'Assisi was almost deserted.

CDP 2018 January Theme

End of 2017, is time to choose our own best shot of the year. 2017 wasn't a great year for me regarding making photos, was too busy to really put more effort into creating better photos, however this shot of the arcade in piazza Carlo Alberto has to be my favourite .

Love the light and the composition and the lovely lady who walked exactly in the center of the arcade. Thanks Miss ....:)

In Autumn - Trail

A jogging trail along river Po partially covered in bright yellow fallen leaves....

And further up along the path a cyclist riding through the autumn leaves....

La Mole Spring View

Early Spring, looking down from the park in La Cavallerizza over the Royal garden below the ancient wall once surrounding the antique Turin. 

La Mole is as usual dominated the view with all its splendor, and below people are already  lying down onto the grass to enjoy the spring sun.

Houses By The River

These houses near to the river Po, from this view seem to be in some places far from the town center, but they are actually just located a short distance from the center and the other side of the houses is a busy main road .

Bubbles Fun

Bubbles are for all seasons, whether in hot summer or cold winter, the bubbles ' blower' never failed to show up and cheer up the children.

Here in piazza Carignano, a father held up his child to catch the big bubble, she was so happy....

The Man By The Entrance

There were many people in the piazza, and this man was standing alone by his bicycle at the entrance into the Royal palace, watching the crowd quietly. Perhaps he was waiting for someone....

Foreign Encounter

Two 'foreigners' under a more deserted point in piazza Castello, under the arcade. 

One sitting there texting on his mobile, while the other just entered and most likely wondering whether or not to approach him for some coins....

The Black Wolves

A pack of black wolves with bloodly jaws crowding against a pile of book s, , this dramatic art exhibition with strong social content is the work of chinese artist Liu Ruo Wang.

It is installed in the Cortile del Rettorato of the University Of Turin.

The message of the artist is a protest against the increasingly materialized society which indifference towards arts, religion and culture, it is also a complaint towards those in power of their disinterest in culture.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn, the season of colors, when the green of summer turns into the red, the yellow, the golden. And also the heat changes into the cool. Autumn, the season of changes toward an end.

Cleaning Up

Saturday evening after the flea market at Balon, the cleaners begin cleaning up the street with this vehicle.....

Welcome Back Mandarin Ducks

I thought they were disappeared, the gulls used to chase them away when they came over to this part of the river. Last year there was no sight of them along the river, now with the arrival of Spring, they have reappeared and even swam up to this part of river Po.

By the look, it seems that some courtship is happening.

 

 

 

Galleria San Federico Christmas lights

Galleria San Federico, fills with fashion light bubbles. 

 

Fashion illuminates Turin in via Roma, ten antique dress of the 700, 800, 900 encased in bright light bubbles, a tribute to Turin tailoring.

10 bubbles suspended in the air, each contains a tailored suit in it.
