Clouds Above Porta Palatina

This was the day before the yesterday morning storm, looking at the clouds above Porta Palatina, beams of light emerging out from the clouds.... 

Bluetail Damselfly

Damselflies (suborder Zygoptera), typically smaller than dragonflies, are sometimes confused with newly moulted dragonflies.

 

Saw a couple of damselflies at the river Po, their striking blue color is very distinguished and beautiful....they seem to sparkle under the sunlight.

Po And Dora

Po is the muscle man and Dora is the classy lady, representing the two main rivers in Torino, they have been together in piazza San carlo and yet separated by via Roma by many, many year.....the two rivers get to meet up somewhere along their way to the sea, but their representatives are always together, and always apart.... 

Hollow Words

Thirst

Is pretty hot these few days, one gets thirsty easily while walking around town under the heat, luckily there are the Toro fountains located around, so we can quench our thirst without spending money, plus the water is really fresh and cool.

After visiting the graveyard Cimitero Monumentale Di Torino, walking along Via Alfonso Varano toward the river Dora Riparia, surprised to find a little foal staring at me from a courtyard of a house next to the road....
He got scared when I raised my camera to snap a shot, and he ran to his mum.....

Pian della Mussa : Excursion

One day excursion to pian della Mussa, a resort located at 1850 m at the end of the Val d'Ala in the valleys of Lanzo.
We went to the usual restaurant where we have lunch and then a walk. Is an annual event for us.

The River Po is framed by an arch of packaging waste: a prediction, contained in the title, which is likely to come true if we do not respect the landscape that surrounds us

CICLONUDISTA

Naked Bikers traveled from Parco Valentino, Imbarchino to the center of Torino in their minimum costumes....Unfortunately I couldn't catch up with them to capture their journey in the center which would be more interesting and meaningful.

Basketball Day

There was a basketball day at piazza Castello, personally I am not so much into basketball, everything are just too tall and high for me in this ball game....but just couldn't ignore such a huge ball right in the center of piazza Castello....

Campus Luigi Einaudi

The Campus was built thanks to the recovery of the North East side of Turin, between Lungo Dora Siena and  Corso Regina Margherita, the so-called former Italgas area, used for industrial high pollution impact work, in complete disposal from the 70s of the last century and in state of severe disrepair.

 
The acquisition of the former Italgas area (completed in 1998) is part of a larger project to decongest the University, based on the idea to create several centers of teaching specialization, spread out in the city and in the outer zone.

Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata

The church, today the result of a reconstruction in twentieth century, was built between 1648 and 1656 by the project of Charles Morello on behalf of the Brotherhood of the Holy Annunciation along Via Po, along  the new extension of the city.

At the end of the nineteenth century, the building wasn't in good condition and was inadequate to the needs of the community served by the brotherhood, so in 1913 it was decided to demolish and rebuild. The project by Ing. Giuseppe Gallo, began in 1919, finally completed in 1934.
