Lock Down The Eighteenth Day

Is sunny today!
Yesterday was the eighteenth day and was rainy. Regardless, we still had to go to the supermarket to top up food. Was better to go on Friday than Saturday to avoid long queue.
Went to the less queue one, which was also near to home.

We were the only one queuing up, so it was pretty fast to able to get in for our purchase. I waited outside so as not to take up the space for other people.

While waiting, decided to snap some photo with my phone. The supermarket was not the only shop opened, also a news stand was opened, somehow the news stands are considered essential, perhaps is because they also sell bus tickets.

At one moment, a police car was stopping while I was taking photo by the road side, it seemed that the police took a look at me, then decided that I was not worth the trouble to be checked on, so they drove off.

On the way home, noticed that there was actually a fresh fruits store opened under the arcade.
Anyway, there were more cars on the streets that I had expected.

Rain For A Day

After 70 days without rain, finally yesterday was raining the whole day, not a heavy pouring, but just fine drizzling, but it does help to clean up the air and wash the streets.

And of course left pools of water  on the ground for making photography of reflection.

Via Cernaia

Via Cernaia, the street which leads to the train station Porta Susa and beyond.....
A busy street, heavy traffic most of the time, and it goes from Porta Susa up to via Pietro Micca.

On a good day, the Alps is visible behind the old structure of the train station.

Torino Pride 2016

Last weekend was the Torino Pride 2016, there was 120 thousand participants according to the news report.

The pride parade started at via San Donato and ended in piazza San Carlo where a concert was held for the event.

This is the 10 years anniversary since Torino started it's first Pride, judging from the comments on various photos posted on internet, it seems there is still some distance to go before people can actually accept others for being differet and be really tollerant.

Most common comments are : It is neccessary to manifest in such an exaggerated way....
How am I going to explain to my kids why there are half naked people matching on the street, and why there are men dressed by as women?
These are just some jokers....
and of course these people who posted these comments claimed to have lots of gay friends....

This is alos the first participated by the new mayor and she has selected the ex-chairman of the Arcigay as an assessor....

Overall, it was a nice Pride, full of joys, full of colors and full of Pride, although it was not perfectly organized and executed.

Although in Italy, the fight for legal right for same sex couple is still going on and unlikely it will has the same result as in US any time soon, but the spirit was high and everyone was happy for US, get motivated to carry on the fight.

Walk Into The Sun

This summer has been rainy, cloudy and sunny in between....
Sometime, part of the town is raining while a short distance away it is sunny.
So, when you want to get some sun, you just have to choose the right time and right spot, get yourself there and walk into the sun.

And as I walk into the sun
And as I stare across this ocean
And as I start a brand new day
Will my life ever be the same again?
