The weather was hot, and then came the heavy rain and hail, which broke tree branches, dented cars parked on the street, and of course there were puddles of water everywhere.
Officially, Summer has arrived, but the rain came back again, the temperature plunged from 28°C to 18°C.
Occasionally there are thunderstorms, bringing the mood from Summer back to Autumn.

Torino pride was on the 15 of June. As usual, the parade passed through the street under our block.
We were in a vantage point where we could watch the parade from above without having to push through the crowds.
Event: Torino Pride 2024
I think this photo was taken during the Bike pride event 2 years ago.
Some of the cyclists were riding on these extremely tall bicycles, passing through the road. Still wondering how they got up and down from the bicycles?

View from my balcony can be quite nice, especially on a fine day.
Today, the layers of clouds at the end of piazza Castello caught my eyes.

Didn't actually take many photo in 2023, even less with the actual camera, mostly just snapped some photo with my cell phone. So, there are limited choices for me to choose one for the CDP January Theme - Photo Of The Year.
For the CDP January theme - Photo of The Year, I would like to present my very first photo taken in 2024, just a few minutes past 2023.
Just past midnight, someone fired some fireworks at the corner of the street below our apartment, it was easily seen from our balcony.

25 April, Liberation day of Italy, Liberation Day, also known as the Anniversary of Italy's Liberation (Anniversario della Liberazione d'Italia), Anniversary of the Resistance (Anniversario della Resistenza), or simply 25 April (25 aprile) is a national holiday in Italy that commemorates the victory of the Italian resistance movement against Nazi Germany and the Italian Social Republic, puppet state of the Nazis and rump state of the fascists, in the Italian Civil War, a civil war fought in Italy during World War II.
Public events in memory of the event, like marches and parades, have been organized annually in all Italian cities.
Earlier before the march
The march was held yesterday evening and it passed by via Pietro Micca, which is under my apartment block.

He kept trying to pull up his falling pants while walking with his girlfriend.
He was wearing a bit thin for the season by the way.

June is the month of Pride, have pride in who you are, have pride in your family and have pride in life.
It was a hot day and still people celebrated the day with music and dance througout the parade.

The night before at 2300 hours, one block away from where I live, major gas leak was detected in a building. The whole building was smelled of gas and an apartment on the fourth floor caught a fire and I assumed was quickly put off.
The whole area was fenced off, traffic was blocked even today.
The authority is still trying to work out where is the leak and to stop it.
It was quite a scene to look at, especially with all light off in that area.

After missed out in 2020, the Pride Torino was back on the 25th of September, not in the usual month of June. And even in September it was postponed a week after the initial set date due to the lack of permission from the authority.
Finally, it arrived in a much reduced version.

In Italy, the COVID-19 green certificate facilitates attendance at certain public events (such as trade fairs, concerts, sports competitions, parties following religious or civil ceremonies) and access to health care facilities for the elderly (RSA). It is also mandatory when moving into and out of areas that may be classified as "red" or "orange" zones in the absence of valid reasons for work, health or proven urgency.
The rule, announced some weeks ago, applies to domestic flights, train travel between regions and sea travel. Some ferries are exempt, such as those serving many tiny islands which have no other connections to the mainland, and those used by commuters between Sicily and the southern tip of the mainland in Calabria.
Several protests against the obligation of Green Pass have been held in some major cities and in Torino, the protest has been going on every Saturday in the center of the city.

Music, an essential part of a parade, it helps to bring up the atmosphere and in some ways, manipulates the emotion of the crowd.
The music during the K Free Pride was especially energetic and influencing.

Not quite sure what was it about, the K Pride.
Looked through the site : https://gancio.cisti.org/event/1486, it explained:
'WHY FREE-K PRIDE?
We claim the carnival, the bad taste, the provocation, the inconvenience. After more than a year of pandemic we can say that no, we have not come out better: on the contrary we are witnessing a resurgence of sexist and homolesbobitransphobic violence that punishes those who try to self-determine by breaking free from the cis-hetero-patriarchal regime. If you think this is a rhetorical and ideological discourse, Free-k Pride comes out of its fangs for you too and shouts in the street that we don't want to get used to living in a country where a woman is killed every three days, often by a man who has House keys. That we don't want to get used to living in a city where a 'rainbow bag' is an excuse to be brutally beaten on the street; where a teenager throws himself under a train and even after death he is sent threatening messages referring to his sexuality.'
I was passing by the piazza unintentionally, unawared that there was a manifestation going on.
It was the next day after I had my 2nd dose of vaccine and I was not feeling so well, actually I was feeling a bit cold in the house, so I decieded to go for a walk under the hot sun to warm up a bit.
Then, I saw the policemen along the street, and then I saw all these colorful people in the piazza. So, I started snapping photo and ended up joining the parade.
It was colorful, wonderful and full of fun.

There are some beautiful clouds over the sky in Turin these days.
Such as these fire clouds over the sky behind the San Tommaso church at via Pietro Micca.

With the re-opening of the restaurants and bars but limited to serve only takeaway and dining in the open, restaurants and bars make use of any possible open space to setup tables for the diners.
Many take up car parking space and even pedestrian walks, causing some inconveniences for others.
A Japanese sushi restaurant across the street decieded to place their tables under the walk arcade along via Pietro Micca.
Although the tables don't cause much inconviences to the pedestrians, but those poor waiters and waitresses have to cross over the rather busy street in order to take orders and deliver the foods.
Furthermore, eating sushi so close to the traffic dosen't really appeal to me...

Near my block there is a luxury shop selling expensive porcelain and glasswares, which we just look and never dare even to step in.
It has some round mirrors placed on the bottem side of it windows and they reflect the view of the buildings on the other side of the road.

It was a cold but sunny day, the sky was blue and the air was chilly.
The buildings at the junction of the road were quite attractive, the shadows and shade of the photo taken were a bit too bluish, somehow the photo looks better in black and white.
