Winter Swam

The lost goose which got mixed up with the ducks on the river Po has traveled further up the river, now it is on the other side of Vittorio bridge. 

Still separated from its group, but it seems happy to be in this new environment.

In Metro

Turin doesn't has an extensive Metro line, but it is pretty conformable to take, not too crowded and although is rather small, but it is clean and tidy.

It is almost fascinating to travel in the Metro....

Shadow And Light Under The Arcade

One of the view always attracted my eyes is the shadow created by the beams of sun light shining through the arcade in Torino.

Torino has many long arcades along some of the main streest, some are well decorated and some are not so well maintained. Nevertheless, whenever the light shines through, it creates an amazing, spectacular view.

Riding In Early Winter

Along the river Po, the trail is covered full of fallen leaves, regardless the cold, still many cyclists and runners doing their outdoor hobby along this trail.

Witches Of The Chocolate Fair

Every year in November the town has the Chocolate Fair, exhibiting and selling all kind of chocolates.This year they had it at piazza San Carlo again.
Not being a real fan of chocolate, I just briefly walked through the piazza and this group of ladies dressed up in traditional costume caught my eyes. People went around each stand where these ladies were and got chocolates from them, not sure what was it about....

Anyway, they gave me an impression of witches.....

Cirko Vertigo Red Devil

For the Christmas Season, various performances are arranged to entertain the public in piazza Castello. One of these is the Cirko Vertigo which I enjoy a lot seeing their show.
The performers are hung and lifted up by cable attached to a big wheel which is raised up slowing when the show begun.

Out of all the performers, this red devil is especially stand out.

Christmas Tree

This year a new Christmas is placed in piazza Castello, quite pretty and obviously very bright.

Shop For Christmas

This is the nice shop which has beautiful items for Christmas at via Langrange, the shop window was posted on the previous post CDP December Theme.

Walking in the shop is like having Christmas already, all the marvelous displays are magical.

Autumn Riverside Walk

This time of the year, along the river Po, the stretch of walk from one bridge to the other bridge is covered by golden fallen leaves. Although the evening is pretty cold, but the color of Autumn is so beautiful and the place is so peaceful, thus makes the walk very pleasant.

Few nights of fog covering Torino, created an mysterious atmosphere.....

The simple quaint architecture of the Duomo and the foggy atmosphere provoked a mysterious feeling....

Eating Out In Autumn

Is a chilling Autumn, still people are willing to eat out, sitting outside and have their meals.
So, this restaurant at piazza Carignano setup heating units with giant flames to keep its customers warm and good.

Foreign Encounter

Two 'foreigners' under a more deserted point in piazza Castello, under the arcade. 

One sitting there texting on his mobile, while the other just entered and most likely wondering whether or not to approach him for some coins....

The Black Wolves

A pack of black wolves with bloodly jaws crowding against a pile of book s, , this dramatic art exhibition with strong social content is the work of chinese artist Liu Ruo Wang.

It is installed in the Cortile del Rettorato of the University Of Turin.

The message of the artist is a protest against the increasingly materialized society which indifference towards arts, religion and culture, it is also a complaint towards those in power of their disinterest in culture.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn, the season of colors, when the green of summer turns into the red, the yellow, the golden. And also the heat changes into the cool. Autumn, the season of changes toward an end.

Colorful Man

He is one of those 'personaggio' of Turin, a prominent character that can be seen around town.
His tattoos and his colorful outfit make him stand out from the crowd and he is pretty cool with it, even when people look at him in a certain way. I think he is cool ....

His name is Angelo Piovano. He should be about 77 years old by now and he started his first attoo at the age of 56.

Books Selling Under The Arcades

The world longest bookstall under the arcades from via Roma all the way up to piazza Carlo Felice. Unprecedented success for the ninth edition of the 'Portici di Carta', which was filled with people who love book, reading, words and ideas of the historic center of Turin.  
Throughout that week- end, the arcades of Via Roma, Piazza San Carlo and Piazza Carlo Felice became a library over two kilometers long. More than eighty booksellers in Turin and the metropolitan city, 40 small and medium publishers of Piedmont, antique dealers and booksellers.
