A little piazza at the cross junction of via Carlo Alberto and via Andrea Doria.

The flowers store in the center is sort of a landmark of this little piazza.

Piazza CLN

Piazza CLN is a small piazza behind piazza San Carlo, likes a younger brother, it is usually shadowed by its older brother piazza San Carlo.

However, it is recognizable by the two fountains, the Po and the Dora located on both sides of the piazza, facing the continuation of via Roma.

Piazza San Carlo Reflected

Piazza San Carlo reflected on a pond of rain water at via Roma after a sudden storm.

The daily storm in the last few days had damped the crowd of people rushing onto the street at certain time.

In the photo, the piazza seems to be quieter....

Waiting Under Shelter

Rains, added difficulty for the food riders who have to rush to delivery the food.

The other day, while waiting under the arcade for the rains to stop, a rider stood under the arcade, looking anxiously and helplessly at heavy rain. Perhaps he was worrying if he could delivery the food in time.

Rainstorm

When the city just goes into the phase 2, more people are getting out to go around, the rainstorm begins.

Almost everyday, the first half of the day is clear and sunny, then out of a sudden, the dark clouds arrive and follow by rains and even hailstorm.

People then start to run for shelter, some bravehearts run across the street despite the heavy pour.

Sudden Pour

It seems everything is slowing going back to normal, as the weather too. Normally in Turin, rains love to come on weekends, during the lockdown, the few weekends were rather warm and dry, and today, while many people were out doing shopping and meeting up with friends, suddenly the rain came.

The sudden pour left the streets wet and making them look fresh and clean.

Andrea Mantegna Exhibition

The Andrea Mantegna exhibition is held in the Palazzo Madama at piazza Castello, the exhibition was supposed to be ended in 4th of May, but due to the Covid and the lockdown, it is extended till the 20th of July.

It had usually a long queue to get into the exhibition, fortunately, on the first few days after the reopening, perhaps not many people realised it, there was no queue at all, so I was able to see the exhibition without much trouble.

Andrea Mantegna (c. 1431 – September 13, 1506) was an Italian painter, a student of Roman archeology, and son-in-law of Jacopo Bellini.

Like other artists of the time, Mantegna experimented with perspective, e.g. by lowering the horizon in order to create a sense of greater monumentality.

His flinty, metallic landscapes and somewhat stony figures give evidence of a fundamentally sculptural approach to painting.

He also led a workshop that was the leading producer of prints in Venice before 1500.
